On 16th May 2019 the South Australian Government launched its Online Accessibility Policy and Toolkit and this has now made accessibility a technical standard for all public-facing government websites, including those for schools.

Following this milestone, two weeks later we proudly launched the first accessible school website in South Australia using the valuable resources found in this policy.

We are on a mission to make all school websites inclusive! At Edu Net Solutions, we are passionate about helping schools achieve digital accessibility, as we believe that all members of our community should be able to equal access the web. We follow best industry practices by using the Level AA compliance accessibility criteria, which we achieved in April 2019. We have currently more than 80 school websites in the pipeline and from now on, all school websites we launch will be fully compliant with the South Australian Government Accessibility Policy.

We understand that achieving accessibility might be a daunting and overwhelming challenge for schools, especially for those that recently had their website revamped. Many of you might be wondering what the difference is between your current website and a fully compliant and inclusive one.

One key difference is that content and presentation play a central role in a modern accessible website. When a website is correctly designed, developed and edited, this ensures that all users have equal access to information and its range of operations.

If your school wants to learn more about accessible websites, please get in touch with us. We will gladly explain to you what an accessible website is and what needs to be done to your website so that it is compliant with the new policy.

Come on, South Australia. Join us! Let’s together make school websites accessible to all!
